  • Broccoli, cut into small florets12 oz
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded2 cups shredded
  • Whole milk2.5 cups
  • All-purpose flour4 tbsp
  • Butter2 tbsp
  • Paprika1 tsp

    Prep the ingredients

    Cut the broccoli into small florets and shred the cheddar cheese; set out the macaroni and sauce ingredients.

    Boil pasta and broccoli

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add the macaroni, and cook over high heat; add broccoli for the final 3 minutes, then drain.

    Make the cheese sauce

    Melt the butter in the empty pot over medium-low heat, whisk in the all-purpose flour for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in the whole milk, paprika, 1/2 tsp salt, and a few grinds of black pepper.
