  • Pork chop, patted dry4 6 oz chops
  • Couscous1.5 cups
  • Apple, cored and cut into small dice2 medium
  • Onion, finely diced1 medium
  • Chicken broth1.5 cups
  • Butter2 tbsp
  • Sage, finely chopped1 tbsp
  • Olive oil1 tbsp

Method

    Prep the ingredients

    On a cutting board, pat the pork chops dry; core and dice the apple, finely dice the onion, and finely chop the sage.

    Start the couscous

    Bring the chicken broth and butter to a boil in a medium saucepan over high heat. Stir in the couscous and cover.

    Steam the couscous

    Remove the covered saucepan from the heat and leave it covered for 5 minutes.

    Brown the chops

    Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the pork chops with 1/2 tsp salt and a few grinds of black pepper, then sear, turning once, for 8–10 minutes.
